Great Serpent Mound is a paranormal site near Peebles, Ohio, USA (Coordinates 39°01′25″N 83°25′53″W) about two degrees North of the UFO Highway. Ross Hamilton makes a connection between the alignment of the mound and the constellation Draco.

Serpent Mound is the largest "serpent effigy" known to man. It is a 1/4 mile long mound shaped like a snake and located in Adams County, Ohio. The head of the serpent is aligned to the summer solstice sunset and the coils point to the winter solstice sunrise and the equinox sunrise. Visitors to the site walk along a footpath surrounding the serpent and experience the mystery and power of this monumental effigy. A public park for more than 100 years, Serpent Mound attracts visitors from all over the world. The museum contains exhibits on the archeology of the mound and the geology of the surrounding area.[1]

Local moundsEdit

The greatest concentrations of mounds are found in the Mississippi and Ohio valleys. Although the name mound builders implies homogeneity, most archaeologists believe that they were not connected politically. It is believed that they were the ancestors of the Native Americans found inhabiting the regions of the mounds by the first European explorers. Due to locality and tribal customs there is much variation in the shape, size, and purpose of mounds. Shapes include conical tumuli, elongated or wall-like mounds, pyramidal mounds, and effigy mounds (bird, animal, or serpentine forms).[2]
